Brad Maxwell’s legacy
Maxwell began his NHL career in 1977, selected seventh overall by the North Stars in the NHL Amateur Draft. He played for the North Stars through 1985. His years with the team included making it to the 1981 Stanley Cup Finals, where they lost to the New York Islanders. In 1983, Maxwell recorded 73 goals in 78 games, and he was an All-Star selection that season. After his years with the North Stars, he played for the Quebec Nordiques, Toronto Maple Leafs, Vancouver Canucks, and New York Rangers.
Maxwell also played on the Canadian national team in the 1978, 1979, and 1982 Ice Hockey World Championships. In later years, he worked in construction and was a leader in the North Stars alumni association.
