Charles Johnson (1972–2022), Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver

Charles Johnson was a wide receiver with NFL teams including the Pittsburgh Steelers and New England Patriots.

Football career

After playing college football for the University of Colorado Boulder, Johnson was a first-round pick for the Steelers in the 1994 NFL Draft. He played for the Steelers for five years before signing with the Philadelphia Eagles. In 2000, he led the Eagles with seven touchdown catches. The following year, in his single season with the Patriots, he earned a Super Bowl ring. Johnson finished his NFL career with a single season with the Buffalo Bills. In later years, he was assistant athletic director at Heritage High School in Wake Forest, North Carolina.
