by Linnea Crowther

Darren Kent was a British actor who had roles in such TV shows and movies as “Game of Thrones” and “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves.”

Darren Kent’s legacy

For many TV viewers, Kent was most recognizable for his appearance on a 2014 episode of “Game of Thrones,” playing a goatherd in Slavers Bay. His other TV appearances included “EastEnders,” “Happy Hours,” and “Malpractice.”

On the big screen, Kent starred in the 2012 film “Sunny Boy,” playing a young man with a rare skin disorder. Kent himself had a skin disorder, as well as osteoporosis and arthritis. He also had roles in such movies as “Mirrors,” “Snow White and the Huntsman,” “The Little Stranger,” and “Jeepers Creepers: Reborn.” Recently, he had a role in “Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves” as a reanimated corpse. Kent also wrote and directed independent films, including the short “You Know Me.”

Kent’s advice for aspiring actors

“[N]ever give up, try and network and be amongst as many creative people as you can. Find out when there are networking nights, find out where you can get auditions, make sure you don’t pay to audition for anything and just learn about the business. Mix with actors who are already in the business, doing what you want to do one day yourself.” —from a 2018 interview for Nerdly
