The British-born Hemblen had an early voice role as the tiger Shere Khan in the late-1980s animated series “The Jungle Book: The Adventures of Mowgli.” Around the same time, he was appearing on live-action TV as Detective Dick Hargrove in the Mr. T series “T and T.” Hemblen began voicing Magneto in “X-Men: The Animated Series” in 1992, bringing gravitas to the role. His other notable TV roles include Jonathan Doors in “Earth: Final Conflict,” George in “La Femme Nikita,” Lord Dread in “Captain Power and the Soldiers of the Future,” and Lewis Hewitt in “A Nero Wolfe Mystery.” Hemblen also appeared in movies including “The Sweet Hereafter” and “Tommy Boy,” and he was a noted stage actor in Canada.
