Frost and the Snowman

by Legacy Staff

We’re celebrating two “Frosty” winter classics by Robert Frost and Jimmy Durante both of whom died on January 29.

At first glance, poet Robert Frost and actor-comedian Jimmy Durante may not seem to have much in common. One was poet laureate of the United States; the other a vaudevillian known for his raspy singing voice and big nose. But we found a special connection: both died on January 29 – Frost in 1963 and Durante in 1980. And that got us thinking: what else do these two have in common? Well, for one, some of our favorite winter memories include these two “frosty” fellows. In their memory, here are their iconic wintry classics: “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” by Robert Frost and “Frosty the Snowman” as narrated by Jimmy Durante. Enjoy!
