Musical career
Born Lola Chantrelle Mitchell, Gansta Boo was still in her teens when she began rapping and was discovered by DJ Paul. He brought her into Three 6 Mafia in time for their 1995 debut album, “Mystic Stylez.” One of six core members and the second woman to join the group. Gangsta Boo remained with Three 6 Mafia through 2011, when she left to pursue a solo career. She had released her debut solo album in 1998, “Enquiring Minds,” featuring the hit single “Where Dem Dollas At!?” Gangsta Boo continued releasing solo albums and collaborating with other artists for many years, including her 2020 appearance on the Run the Jewels track “Walking in the Snow.”
