Longtime Major League Baseball outfielder
Gerald Williams was drafted by the Yankees in 1987 and made his major league debut with the club in 1992. He was known for his speed and defensive skill in the outfield and was nicknamed “Ice.” He was traded by the Yankees late in the 1996 season to the Brewers, so he did not play on the Yankees World Series winning team that year. He also played for the Braves, Rays, Marlins, and Mets and had a second stint with the Yankees from 2001-2002. He hit .255 and had 85 home runs during his 14 season MLB career.
