Actor, Director, and Producer
Jacques Perrin was an actor in French and Italian cinema for decades. He also co-directed and co-produced many films. He started his acting career in the 1950s and won the best actor award at the Venice Film Festival for his role in the 1966 movie “Un uomo a meta.” He starred with Catherin Deneuve in “The Young Girls of Rochefort” and “Donkey Skin.” Perrin’s best-known role to the American audience was playing adult filmmaker Salvatore, who looks back on his life, in the 1988 Oscar-winning film “Cinema Paradiso.” His final acting role was in the movie “Goliath,” which just came out in March of this year.
