Kathy Lamkin (1947–2022), “No Country for Old Men” actress

Kathy Lamkin was an actress known for her performances in movies including “No Country for Old Men” and the 2003 remake of “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.”

Acting career

Lamkin began acting in local theater in Houston before beginning her professional career. She had a breakthrough role in “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” playing the eerie character of the Tea Lady. Lamkin reprised the role in the 2006 movie “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.” In “No Country for Old Men,” she played a trailer park manager who was the only person who stood up to the psychopath played by Javier Bardem and lived. Her other movies included “The Heartbreak Kid,” “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,” and “Waiting for Guffman. On TV, Lamkin made memorable appearances on shows including “Nip/Tuck,” “Malcolm in the Middle,” and “My Name Is Earl.” She was also a drama teacher who ran the Unicorn School of Acting.
