Kyle LeDuc’s legacy
LeDuc knew off-road racing from birth. His father, Curt LeDuc, had a 30-year off-road racing career of his own, competing in such high-profile events as the Dakar Rally and King of the Hammers. LeDuc followed in his father’s footsteps, first pursuing mountain bike racing, then switching to SCORE International desert racing. Becoming a pro at just 20 years old, he was the youngest driver in active competition at the time.
Among LeDuc’s first races was the legendary, 2,000-mile Baja 2000. He won his class, but he later switched from marathon races to short courses, becoming one of the most dominant competitors in the sport. His travels took him through the Off-Road Racing (LORRS), The Off-Road Championship (TORC), and Robby Gordon’s Super Stadium Truck Series. Though just 42, his career spanned 30 years and included seven Pro 4 championships and one Pro-Lite championship.
Before LeDuc’s cancer diagnosis knocked him out of competition, he had racked up over 100 career wins, four consecutive Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series (LOORRS) Pro 4 championships, three Challenge Cup wins, and many more.
