North Carolina basketball legend

Lennie Rosenbluth was a star basketball player at the University of North Carolina. He was an All-American forward in 1957, averaging 28 points a game that season which is still a school record. He led the undefeated Tarheels to their first ever NCAA basketball championship title that same year when they defeated Kansas and their star player Wilt Chamberlain 54-53 in triple overtime. Rosenbluth had 20 points in that game before fouling out at the end of regulation. His number 10 jersey was retired by North Carolina, and he is one of only 8 players to have that honor which includes Michael Jordan and James Worthy. He played three seasons in the NBA for Philadelphia and then became a high school teacher and coach. He was inducted into the National Jewish Sports Hall of Fame.
