Lisa Montell’s legacy
Montell began her acting career in the mid-1950s, first seen onscreen in the 1955 movie “Escape to Burma.” She appeared in many TV westerns, including “The Gene Autry Show,” “Broken Arrow,” “Have Gun – Will Travel,” “Bat Masterson,” and “Maverick.” Her other TV appearances included “Mike Hammer,” “One Step Beyond,” “Surfside 6,” and “77 Sunset Strip.”
On the big screen, Montell starred as an underground dweller in a future Earth in “World Without End,” and she played one of several eligible sisters in “Ten Thousand Bedrooms.” Her other movies include “Pearl of the South Pacific,” “Tomahawk Trail,” and “The Lone Ranger and the Lost City of Gold.”
Montell left acting in the early 1960s. In later years, she gave public talks about her Baháʼí faith and worked for Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley.
