Mendonça quickly rose to fame after her 2014 debut EP, and by 2017, she became the most-played Brazilian artist on YouTube. Her 2019 album Todos os Cantos won the Latin Grammy Award for Best Sertaneja Music Album. Mendonça has just released a new album less than a month before her death, Patroas 35%, a collaboration with Maiara & Maraisa. As news of her death broke, Mendonça became the most-streamed musical artist worldwide.
