Russian Subway Bombing Victims

by Legacy Staff

14 people were killed in an explosion on a subway train in St. Petersburg, Russia.

At least 14 people were killed Monday in an explosion on a Russian subway train traveling between two stations, according to multiple news sources, citing state news agencies.

The blast occurred on the train as it moved between a technology institute stop and the Sennaya Ploshad station in central St. Petersburg.

St. Petersburg is the hometown of Russia’s president, Vladimir Putin.

A second explosion also was reported at the technology center, but The Associated Press reported later that only one explosive device went off on a train as it moved between the two stations.

Another explosive was found at another station, but authorities defused it.
