Tiffany Jackson (1985–2022), WNBA star and coach

Tiffany Jackson was a WNBA star and coach who played for teams including the New York Liberty and Tulsa Shock.

Basketball career

Jackson played college basketball for the University of Texas at Austin. She was named Freshman of the Year by the United States Basketball Writers Association and was selected as an All-American her sophomore, junior, and senior years. Selected by the New York Liberty in the first round of the 2007 WNBA draft, Jackson played for the team for three seasons before being traded to the Tulsa Shock. She was diagnosed with breast cancer while playing for the Shock and took a break from playing as she underwent treatment. Later, she played briefly for the Los Angeles Sparks before retiring from the WNBA in 2018. Jackson coached for the University of Texas as well as playing for the Israeli team Maccabi Ashdod in the off season.
