Boy Band Star
Tom Parker was a singer who was a member of a Take That tribute band when he joined the UK boy band The Wanted in 2009. The Wanted were international stars, selling millions of records. Though more popular in the UK, they had hits in America including the song “Glad You Came,” which reached number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. “Glad You Came” gained popularity when it was covered on the TV show “Glee.” The group split up in 2014. In 2017, Parker played Danny Zuko in the UK tour of “Grease.” He was open and inspirational in his fight against cancer and released the documentary film “Tom Parker: Inside My Head,” in October, 2021.
