Nwaneri played college football at Purdue University before being drafted in the fifth round by the Jaguars in 2007. He became a starter in 2008. He played with a meniscus injury in 2012. In 2014, Nwaneri was released by the Jaguars and signed with the Dallas Cowboys. He spent only a few months with the Cowboys before being cut, ending his NFL career.
Rest In Peace, Uche Nwaneri. @Chukwu77 played 7 seasons with the @Jaguars, 2007-2013, and forged a strong bond with the Jags fans that's remained to this day. On behalf of the Jaguars organization and my family, our thoughts are with Uche's family + friends at this terrible time.
No way. This guy was one of the nicest people I met during the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut movement. Insanely supportive. Pure heart of gold. A genuine good person and nice guy. Damn, this sucks. Rest easy friend. #UcheNwanerihttps://t.co/Rxtws9nlo1
Back in 2010 I had an AFC South blog. I was 15 years old. Uche Nwaneri, without hesitation, gave me a 2 hour long interview sit down and went over every aspect of that team. Such a cool guy and absolutely heartbreaking to hear of his passing. Rest easy big fella @Chukwu77 💔
Sad to hear of the passing of Uche Nwaneri. One of the most interesting Jaguars in team history. I spoke with him several times in the past few years about the Jaguars struggles. He was unabashed in his opinions. Rest in Peace.
