Bootsie Barnes was a tenor saxophonist and bandleader. An icon of the Philadelphia jazz scene, he was a regular player at venues including Ortlieb’s Jazzhaus and Pep’s musical Bar. He played on an episode of “The Cosby Show” and at the 2001 Newport Jazz Festival.
