Chad Gottschlich was a professor of chemical engineering at the University of Pennsylvania before his retirement, and he held several patents. His nephew remembered him as a straight talker who helped put him through school and asked only that he pay the favor forward. He said Gottschlich cared deeply about fairness and justice.
