Darrin Adams was a sociology major at Wayne State University in Detroit, where he was also a member of the AmeriCorps Urban Safety Program and worked for the school as a custodian. The university honored Adams with a posthumous degree, and the Sociology Department has established a $1000 annual scholarship in his name.
