Age 85

David Beyl was a U.S. Navy pilot whose tours of duty included deployment to Antarctica with Operation Deep Freeze to recover two downed planes. In his honor, a piece of land in Antarctica is named Beyl Head. After his retirement from the military, Beyl became a woodworker and founded Common Sense Woodwork.

Obituary

Cmdr. (Ret.) David D. Beyl, died March 23 at Overlake Medical Center from effects of the COVID-19 virus. He was 85. A long-time resident of Mercer Island, David is survived by daughters Stacia Beyl, Susan McDonnell and Anne Oransky.
