George Wheeler Roark Jr. M.D., 94, passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 from complications of COVID19…
He earned his undergraduate degree at Washington & Jefferson College. He met Barbara during med school at the University of Pittsburgh and they married in 1949. After receiving his M.D. in 1950, George specialized in psychiatry at the Menninger School in Topeka, KS. In 1954 he was called up in the “Doctor Draft” during the Korean War and later began many years of service as a part-time consultant to the CIA. George helped many patients during 37 years of psychiatric private practice in the Washington, DC area…
He had a zest for life and loved tennis, gardening, swimming, and badminton. A master of the grill, he spent many happy days relaxing with family & friends in Bethany Beach, DE…
