Lisa Burhannan worked as a paraprofessional at Marshall Math and Science Academy, as well as teaching classes at a nearby prison. She organized several local chapters of Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice and worked with the nonprofit Breaking the Chainz. Friends remembered her as a passionate organizer who was devoted to helping people.
Obituary
Lisa Christine Burhannan, 50, of Brown St., Harrisburg, transitioned into eternal life on Thursday, June 11 at UPMC Pinnacle Community Osteopathic Hospital. She was born in Harrisburg, daughter of Thomas Spriggs and the late Carolyn Burhannan Harris, a graduate of Harrisburg High School, attended HACC, an employee of Harrisburg School District as a Para Professional, an Assistant Chaplain at UPMC Pinnacle Hospitals and Dauphin Co. Prison, a Voice for Crime Victims and their Families, as a First Responder with the Harrisburg Police Dept., former president of Mothers’ In Charge, Regional Director for Crime Survivors For Safety and Justice and an Elder at Kingdom Embassy Church.
