Sister Mary Luiza Wawrzyniak was a Felician nun in Livonia, Michigan. She was one of at least 11 at her convent to die from COVID-19. The other nuns include: Sr. Mary Clarence (Adeline) Borkoski, Sr. Mary Alice Ann (Fernanda) Gradowski, Sr. Victoria Marie Indyk, Sr. Celine Marie Lesinski, Sr. Mary Estelle Printz, Sr. Mary Patricia Pyszynski, Sr. Mary Martinez (Virginia) Rozek, Sr. Thomas Marie Wadowski, Sr. Rose Mary Wolak, and Sr. Mary Janice (Margaret) Zolkowski.

Obituary

Sister Mary Luiza Wawrzyniak, 99, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2020, at the Felician Sisters Mother House in Livonia, Michigan. She is survived by her sister, Irene Pajakowski of South Bend, Indiana… Sister Luiza served for 80 years in the religious life. She graduated from St. Adalbert Grade School and Saint Hedwig High School in South Bend. After being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in her early twenties, she was unable to continue her teaching career, and served in many capacities at the Felician Sisters Mother House for many years. Her entire family remembers with great fondness her sweetness, humility, perseverance, and commitment to religious life. Even in her later years, she remembered every birthday and anniversary, and supported the family in constant prayer.
