Father’s Grief Brings Daughter Fame

by Legacy Staff

A grieving father honors his daughter’s memory by trying to make her life’s dream come true.

Being a teenager often means coming up with wild, outlandish dreams for the future. For 13-year-old Anna van Keulen of Tilburg, Netherlands, that dream was to be a famous pianist.

Last month, however, Anna was hit by a car on her way to school and died later of her injuries, according to the Dutch language website Dichtbij.nl.

But her dream may still become a reality, thanks to a plea from her father, Niek, who is asking people to watch his daughter perform on YouTube.

In a home movie, Anna delivers a rendition of “Did I Make the Most of Loving You?,” the theme from “Downton Abbey.” In the first 10 days since its posting, the video has been viewed over 3.1 million times.

The video is closed for commenting, but you may leave condolences and accolades for Anna’s performance at a tribute page set up by her school (in Dutch).
