R.C. Chaney Obituary

R.C. Chaney, 86, a Fort Worth resident since 1940, died Thursday, July 10, 2003, at a Dallas hospital.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Kemp, Pastor Lenoard Jackson, officiant. Interment: Redbank Cemetery in Peeltown. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Tabor Baptist Church, 3700 Simpson-Stuart Rd., Dallas.

R.C. Chaney was born March 31, 1917, in Peeltown, Kaufman County. He retired from Chickasaw Lumber Co.

Survivors: Son, R.C. Chaney Jr., of Fort Worth; daughters, Ruthie Fagan (Alonzo) of DeSoto, and Doris Rhodes (King), of Plano; sister, Gertha Brooks; brother, Clifford Chaney, both of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Garee Sanders (Phillip) and Taivaya Fagan; three great-grandchildren, all of DeSoto; special friends, Mrs. Tennie Burley and Joe P. Windham of Peeltown.
