Alva Green-Jones, 55, a native of Bakersfield, passed away last Monday at Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield.
She worked as a telephone operator for 10 years.
Alva was a member of Southside Seventh-day Adventist Church in Bakersfield. She enjoyed taking pictures, baseball and was very fond of children.
Preceded in death by her grandchild, Maurice Damion Allen Jones.
She leaves behind her husband of 35 years, Ivory J. Jones; daughters, Marquetta Jones and Quanika Jones; son, Ivory Eugene Jones; parents, Cleveland Green Sr. And Betty Jean Lee; sisters, Sandra
Segrest and Donna Green; brothers, Timothy Martin Sr., Dennis Jones, Cleveland Green Jr. And Roland Green; grandmother, Edna Hill; grandchildren,
La Toschee Jones, Ebony Jones, Marion Malone, Alilyah Bell, Ivory Jones Jr.; and longtime friends, the Rufus Family of Bakersfield.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 7, at Wiggins-Knipp Funeral Home, 524 Capitol St., Vallejo.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 8, at Tabernacle of David with Rev. Orthea Spencer of New Beginnings Baptist Church officiating. Burial at All Souls Catholic Cemetery, Vallejo.
Arrangements by Wiggins-Knipp Funeral Home, Vallejo.
