Mary Gaviola Obituary
Mary (DeVito) Gaviola, 98, of New Britain, widow of Raymond Henry Stanford and Andrew Gaviola, passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014, at Walnut Hill Care Center in New Britain. Born in Hartford, Mary is a former Wethersfield resident moving to New Britain in 1978. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in New Britain and enjoyed dancing, traveling, drawing, and crocheting. Surviving is her daughter, Joyce (Stanford) Demars of Henderson, Nevada; a granddaughter, Heather McHugh and her husband Ryan of Norwalk; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husbands, Mary was predeceased by two brothers, Andrew and Anthony DeVito; and two sisters, Jean Abremski and Ella DeVito. Funeral service will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, New Britain. There are no calling hours.
