Kenneth Firmstone Sr.

Kenneth D. Firmstone Sr., 89, of Mt. Pleasant, died Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Independence Westmoreland Hospital. Mr. Firmstone was born Nov. 23, 1935, in Mt. Pleasant, to the late Elmer and Nellie Mottle Firmstone. Ken was a graduate of Ramsay High School, class of 1953. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant. He worked at Westinghouse and Powerex as a draftsman, retiring after 48 years. Ken was also the president of the union for Westinghouse and Powerex for several years. Ken enjoyed gardening, traveling, especially cruises, and detailing his cars. Ken is survived by his loving family, his children, Deborah Piper (Gerald Copeland) and Kenneth D. Firmstone Jr. (Annette); his grandchildren, Noah Firmstone and Rhianna Firmstone; and his niece, Melissa Lawrence (Robert). In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by his first wife, Beverly A. Kimmel Firmstone; his second wife, Marlene Kuhn Firmstone; and by his sister, Joyce Mathews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME INC., Mt. Pleasant. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 8, 2025, in the funeral home with Rev. Bob Ellson officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
