Schramm, Lloyd "Goose"

Lloyd "Goose" Schramm, age 82, a resident of the Hamilton Care Center, Two Rivers, died unexpectedly, early Friday morning, April 11, 2014, at the center.

Lloyd was born on July 27, 1931, in Two Rivers, a son of the late Louis and Leona (Buhk) Schramm. He graduated from Two Rivers Washington High School with the Class of 1949 and served in the U.S. Navy from Jan. 11, 1951 until he was honorably discharged on Oct. 20, 1954. On June 29, 1957, he married Carol A. Kohnke in Milwaukee. Lloyd was employed with Formrite Tube Co. for over 40 years, retiring as a foreman. He was an avid fisherman and hunter.

Survivors include his wife: Carol Schramm; his children: Lynn (Mark) Sawyer, Steven (Kim) Schramm and Lisa Chambers, all of Two Rivers; four grandchildren: Kelly (Andy) LaCrosse, Kyle (McKenzie) Schramm, Katelyn Sawyer and Dallas Chambers; three great grandchildren: Ethan, Peytynn and Bailee. He is further survived by a sister: Alice (Waldemar) Wolfmeyer; a sister-in-law: Karen Griffin; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother: Emanuel (Dolores) Schramm.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 17th & East Park Sts., Two Rivers. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. David Arndt. Military honors will be accorded immediately following the service by members of American Legion Post #165 and V.F.W. Post #1248 of Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St., Two Rivers, on Tuesday evening, April 15, 2014, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at the church on Wednesday morning, April 16, 2014, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 Noon.

Lloyd's family extends a special thank to the staff of the Hamilton Care Center for the compassion and care shown to Lloyd and his family.

Our prayers and sympathy to the Schramm family. He lived across from our mom at the Hamilton Care Center. So we briefly knew him, but he could make you smile. I (Janine) work with Steve, and get to hear all the fun times! That is what we need to keep in our hearts.
