Sidney Meyer

AGE: 81 • Pompton Plains

Sidney Meyer, 81, of Pompton Plains (1 1/2 years) and formerly of North Caldwell (48 years) and NYC, died January 3rd. Graveside services will be held Sunday, January 5th, at 2 pm at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, NJ. Mr. Meyer was retired as a CPA and partner from Deloitte and Touche of NYC, where he spent his career of 40 years. He was an Air Force veteran and graduated as a 1st Lieutenant from Syracuse University, where he attended as an R.O.T.C. student. An avid skier, he and his wife Lynn enjoyed travelling to exotic locations around the world. He was an amateur artist, creating pieces made of wood and leather. He was very active at Agudath Israel in Caldwell and, while in NYC, was men's club president of the Park Avenue Synagogue.

Survivors include his wife Lynn, daughters Denise Adelman (Chuck) of Warren, Andrea Stoff (Michael) and son Douglas (Valeska), as well as grandchildren Ian, Hannah, Lexi and Ellie.

Shiva will be at the Adelman residence Sunday 5:30-7:30 and Monday 6:30-8:30. Arrangements are by J L Apter Memorial Chapels of Somerville, (908)575-1800.
