RITCHIE, John Edward. It is with great sadness, that the family of John Edward Ritchie announce his passing, on Saturday 16th August 2025, after a prolonged illness. They would like to extend their sincere thanks for the excellent care provided by the medical team at Tauranga Hospital. John was very much loved; husband and 'best mate' of Helen; Godfather to Zoe and her two sons Hudson and Phoenix; especially loved brother of Heather (Australia), brother- in-law of Jenny and the late Jean and James; fun-loving Uncle of Cameron, Natasha, Katie and Emma and loyal friend to so many. John was known for his humour, his lively spirit, his sensitive quiet thoughtfulness, wisdom and sincerity. He had the ability to reach out to people from all walks of life, leaving a legacy of generosity, gentleness and compassion. He is now safe in the arms of Jesus. John's funeral will be held on Friday 22 August 2025 at 11am, at the Bethlehem Baptist Church, 90 Bethlehem Road, Tauranga 3110. Live stream will be available via www. hopefunerals.co.nz.
