William Hildebrand "Bill" ALINGTON

William ALINGTON Obituary

Architect. On 24 February, 2024, in his 95th year. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (nee Broadhead). Father of Elisabeth (d. 2015), Giles and Catherine. Grandad of Matthew and Wynnie, Thomas and Courtney. Great-grandad of Tobias, Arthur, and Genevieve. Heartfelt thanks to the West Wing staff of Metlifecare Karori for their wonderful care. No flowers please. Messages to the family may be left in Bill's tribute book at www.tributes.co.nz or posted c/- PO Box 14-366, Kilbirnie, Wellington 6241. Funeral to be held at St Peter's Church, 211 Willis St, Wellington, Friday, 1 March, at 10am.

Ki te Alington whanau,
Deeply sorry for your loss, because both Margaret and Bill were Very special. talented taonga. I first met them when my whanau moved to Karori and I joined the Karori Historical Society. I was extremely lucky to visit the beautiful home Bill designed set in bush. Also, I met Bill at St Mary`s Church, Karori, and, later, as a St Mary`s volunteer, at MetLifeCare`s church services. Bill was always so friendly to everyone and polite, however unwell he was. We will Really miss him there. RIP Bill.
