VETTE, Ashley Hughey (Ash). Passed away peacefully in Taradale, with family by his side on Saturday, 12 July 2025 aged 78 years. Loved eldest son of Colin and Molly Vette, and loved brother of his 9 siblings. Dearly loved husband and best mate of Jan. Treasured father and father-in- law of Rachel and Shane O'Brien, and Kim Vette. Adored Grandad of Aimee and Kale O'Brien; and Courtney and Jack Lawson, and Great- Grandad of Laiden, Carson, Asher, Eli, and Indie. A special thanks to all those who have attended and cared for Ash over the years. A service to celebrate Ash's life will be held at the Taradale Club, 55 Wharerangi Road, Napier on Wednesday, 16 July at 1.00pm. Messages to the Vette Family, C/o PO Box 439, Napier 4140.

Sad to hear of Ashley`s passing. I went to Intermediate school with him and he often walked me to my bus stop and if i was lucky he bought me a toffee apple Last saw him in Napier many years ago, Margaret Brooks.

I worked with Ash at Telecom many years ago. I'll always remember his way of answering the phone: "Ngati Porou Supertech here" He was great to have around!
