WAITITI, Hirini (Syd) Wikuki. 01/07/1952 - 15/09/2025 Mourning the loss of our loving and uncompromising father, uncle and papa, the late Hirini (Syd) Waititi, who passed away suddenly at home in Wellington on 15 September 2025, aged 73. Much loved husband of the late Hine Waititi (nee Raihania) and respected father of Dene, Hirini, Taiawhio, Karauna and Kopua. Son of the late Apanui Waititi and Ngawhira Waititi (nee August), paternal grandson of the late Hirini Te Aopururangi Waititi and Kurahapairangi Ranapia and maternal grandson of the late Mita August and Hineora Apiata. Forthright Uncle to his nieces and nephews but cherished and loving Papa to all his mokopuna. Following a short private service held with whānau on 16 September in Wellington - Dad will travel to Tokomaru Bay for a funeral service on 18 September, followed by interment at Takapau Arero Urupā, Tokomaru Bay, with his late wife.
