Thinking back over 20 years from 1970 we remember Betty as a close neighbour at Elsthorpe. Our memories are many, of a kind and gentle lady, mother, neighbour and community supporter. We remember staying with the family at a time when heavy flooding and slippage occurred in the area and threatened our home. Sincere condolences to the extended family. Rest in Peace Betty. May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived.
Lovely memories of Betty from our time at Elsthorpe and our involvement with Elsthorpe Pony Club. Our love to all the Sherning family.

I just wanted to send my love and let you know I am thinking of you all, as you farewell Betty.
Betty was my neighbour at Mary Doyle for over 10 years. When we first arrived, she welcomed us with her gentle warmth and acceptance and offered us an immediate gesture of friendship.
Betty generously included me in many family celebrations and I have fond memories of those happy times together.
One of the nurses at Bramlee house commented that although Betty was a quiet person when we got together it was "yakkity yakkity and roaring with laughter" as we shared stories from our past and put the world to rights.
Betty was a very dear friend to me and I shall miss her sorely. With much love Joy (and my son Jonathan)

To all you dear Shernings. Here Nancy and I are, over in Western Australia, when I read the funeral notice for your darling mother. I have nothing but lovely memories of her from early Elsthorpe days, and what a great friend she, and Peter, were to my Mum & Pop. I will miss her not being in this world, even though I had not seen her for ages...she really was a special person, in my eyes. All our love to ALL you guys during this tough time for you all. Love, Tony & Nancy Wilder.
