Brent FISHER Obituary

FISHER, Brent McMillan. Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on 14 November 2025 at Cranford Hospice Hastings, aged 71 years. Dearly loved husband and soulmate to Anne-Marie. Much loved Dad to Kieran, Aimee and Charlotte. Devoted Grandad to Makaela and Olivia, and precious baby Gianna. In memory of Brent, donations to Cranford Hospice can be made online at www.cranfordhospice.org.nz or left at the service and would be gratefully accepted. 'Taken from us too soon, forever in our hearts and thoughts'. A service for Brent will be held in the Beth Shan Chapel, 157 Georges Drive, Napier on Friday, 21 November at 2.00pm. I´ve known Brent for about 28 years, first when he worked at the Microvinification unit at Lawn Rd, and later in his work with our Pathology Team at HortResearch/PFR. Many words could describe Brent - kind, generous, friendly, approachable, humble, reliable, tolerant, knowledgeable, practical, funny. Brent was always willing to help anyone who needed it, going out of his way to help, going the extra mile and never putting himself first. If challenged on this, he would simply say "oh, it´s no trouble really, I just want to get it done". He was nearly always cheerful, even through tough days. Great company, always ready for a good conversation or a laugh. A genuinely nice person, and his passing is a loss to the world.
Rest in peace, gentle soul. We´ll all miss you.
