Ian McLAUCHLAN Obituary

McLAUCHLAN, Ian McKenzie. Due to the tragic flood in Napier. Dearly loved husband of the late Lucie. Loved father of Kirsten (deceased), and Ryan (San Francisco). Cherished brother and brother-in-law of Mary (deceased) and John, Murray and Christine, Susie and Colin (deceased), and Graham (deceased) and Vivie. A private cremation has taken place. Messages to the 'McLauchlan Family' c/o P O Box 7001, Taradale, 4141.

Ian and I were both kiwis living in Cambria California. We met working for the same company - a total of 4 employees half of whom were New Zealanders. Ian and I have been friends for more than 13 years, through his health stuggles and his eventual move to NZ. Napier was the town I wanted to settle in should I ever return to NZ; the opportunity to reunite with my old friends is now gone. I was so saddened to hear of this tragedy. RIP, Ian. You are loved and remembered well! Barbara Roche

Ian was a dear friend and neighbour and I knew him well from Kelburn School and then Wellington College days.
He reunited with our Kelburn Normal School Class of 1958 when he returned to NZ from the US and everyone really enjoyed his and Lucie's company on a number of occassions.
Ian was a wonderful and talented man who had a great sense of humour and positive attitude to life and we will miss him very much,
All our love and thoughts to Ian's extended family.
