Lynette - Maxine and I went to school from the age of five and attended Miss Mac's ballet school. Later on, we shared an interest in Art Deco and attended many Art Deco Weekend events in Hawkes Bay. I miss her very much. Condolences to friends and family. Fro Lynette and daughters.

Maxine Anderson was my Nursing Tutor in the 1980s at Hastings Memorial Hospital, now known as Hawkes Bay Hospital.
The Nursing Tutors also supervised Nursing Students on the wards during their training.

Maxine's approach with patients / clients was very soft and very gentle and her respectful manner broke down fears and barriers for patients who were facing treatment or surgery. Her counselling skills and sensitivity were" up there' .

Maxine was an excellent role model for student nurses and for me that role modeling was what I needed to get me through having to communicate with
many many people as both a nurse and midwife.

Maxine's professional tutoring has enabled me to make my own contribution in nursing and midwifery in both hospital and independent midwifery. I have personally helped women deliver their beautiful babies over 730 times and I have given labour midwifery care to many many women.

Thank you for your tutoring Maxine,

Rest In Peace, from Mary Minto
