FAZAKERLEY , Robin Dina (Miss). Robin, previously of Auckland but latterly of Havelock North and Hastings, passed away on 31 July 2024 aged 91 years. A renowned Music Teacher, Cellist and Organist, Robin will be missed by her former pupils, fellow musicians and friends. A special thanks to the staff at Brittany House, Hastings for the care and attention they provided to Robin during the last years of her life. A Requiem Mass for the repose of Robin's soul will be celebrated on Tuesday 13 August 2024 at 11am in the Sacred Heart Church at 425 Heretaunga Street East, Hastings.

Miss Fazakerley was my first cello teacher from 1982-1984 through the itinerant music teacher program at Edgewater College. She was very patient. I wish I had practised more back then, but I practise every day now! She left because she got shingles which I´d never heard of back then, and I also used to think she was old. Of course now I realise she wasn´t old at all (since I´m now several years older than she was at the time). I´m grateful for the start of my cello playing thanks to Robin. She made a difference to my life and I think as a teacher that´s the ideal result. Petrina Wu (née March), former student.
