BATHGATE, Sandra Elizabeth. Peacefully passed away on Saturday 12 July 2025. Beloved wife of the late John Duncan Bathgate. Treasured and loving mother to Katherine, Allister, Jennifer, and David. Cherished Nanny to her adored grandchildren. Sandra lived a life full of energy, kindness, and adventure. With a zest for keeping busy, she found great joy in spending time in nature at her beloved Mahunga beach, or in the mountains and valleys of Aotearoa in her hiking boots. Throughout her life she was a dedicated netball umpire and then a fierce and respected competitor in golf croquet. Sandra remained strong and spirited in her later years to rise above her health challenges, offering care, wisdom and unwavering love to her extended family and friends. Her daily treat of liquorice Allsorts was a sweet reminder of her enduring spirit and love of life. A remembrance to celebrate her life will be held at her Napier residence on Friday 25 July at 11:30am. All who knew and loved Sandra are warmly invited to come together, share stories, and honour the vibrant life she lived. You are forever in our hearts.
