Theodorus ROOD Obituary

ROOD, Theodorus, (Theo). Passed away peacefully at Cranford Hospice on September 23, 2025. Dearly loved husband of the late Jan. Father and father- in-law of Rob, Cath and Chris (deceased). Brother-in-law of Jeff, and Linda. Grandad of Sean and Raya, Anna, Sophie, William and Renee, and Christopher. Great Grandad of Clark. A special man who will be sadly missed. A celebration of Theo's life will be held at the Sugar Loaf Chapel of Howard & Gannon Funerals, cnr Lee Road and Gloucester Street, Taradale, Napier on Saturday September 27, 2025 at 11am, followed by a private cremation. In lieu of flowers a donation to Cranford Hospice would be appreciated. Messages to the 'Rood Family' C/- P O Box 7001, Taradale, Napier 4141.

I remember Theo when he used to grow and sell tomatoes from his home years ago. But I didn´t know him until 2022 when he could no longer reach his toenails. He was a very keen gardener and took great pride alongside his daughter to prepare and plant gardens for the new Hospice at Chesterhope which unfortunately was destroyed in the cyclone. He talked a lot about his family. He was very proud of them and I could see why from witnessing the love and care he received when he needed it. Not only from his family but from his neighbours also. He was a good man who I deeply respected. Sleep peacefully dear Theo. Love Annie
