Toarangatira POMARE Obituary

POMARE, Toarangatira Apira Woodbine (Toa). Passed away peacefully at his home aged 73. Youngest son of the late Te Rakaherea and Madge (nee Ormond) Pomare. Brother to Maui (dec'd), Eru (dec'd), Naera, Miria, and Te Rakaherea (Bill). Much loved husband of Catherine Anne and devoted father of Ani Smart and Hamuera (Sam). Beloved father in law to Peter and Gretchen. Adored and cherished Koro of Jorja, Stella, McCullum, William, Penelope, and Anna. A loyal and loved friend to many. A tangi will be held at Hongoeka Marae, Plimmerton, from 11am Sunday the 23rd of November until Tuesday the 25th of November, with a service to be held at Old St Paul's, Mulgrave Street, Thorndon on Wednesday the 26th of November at 2.30pm. To Dear Cathy, Ani, Sam & family.
We Jefferd whanau send our deepest sympathies to you all at this very sad time. I will always treasure the wonderful memories from 1963 ( at Huntley Prep School ) through Whanganui Collegiate days and beyond. Then when Sam & Jack were in the 1st XI together, following their matches , then analysing them over a drink or two. Special memories.
Toa was such a wonderful friend. Talented & committed, he had a wicked sense of humour.
Thanks for everything Torzi - you´re a champion.
