Wally, I hold dear the memories of the times spent together with you and my sister Jean, along with my late wife Ronnie and the kids at Matapouri. Those shared moments remain special to me, filled with laughter, warmth, and a sense of family that I will always treasure.
You have made a significant impact in the lives of many and will be greatly missed and always remembered.

Mr Yovich served long and hard as a District Councillor.
It is because of Mr Yovich, Larry Jacobsen, Council General Manager (and earlier, District Engineer) and Mr Yovich's successor on the Council, Warwick Syers, that Whangarei residents have benefited for decades from the best-quality drinking water and the best-managed sewerage system in New Zealand.
In these hard times I want Mr Yovich's family to know that we all owe an ongoing debt of gratitude to this farsighted man, and that some of us do not forget his legacy.
