My Grandad was an amazing person, always kind and loving to anyone he met, a big man with an even bigger heart. He supported me in everything I did, from my sports to academics, but the thing I loved most about him was he cared for others even at his lowest, I love you Grandad, thank you for being the best Grandad anyone could ask for. I´m gonna miss your hugs, I'm gonna miss your smile, and I will always hold a place for you in my heart <3 -yours truly, Little parrot (fav grandchild)

To Ann and family Please accept my sympathy over your sad loss. As Manager of the Manurewa Senior Rugby team I got to know Albie very well. He was a beautiful man and I treasure the ties we had together. He was a loyal and special friend. Albie was a top class rugby player and always played right up there. On the Australian tour he was outstanding and played an important part in the team's success. In the Northern Suburbs game he matched the international pairing of Fay and Smith and stole more than a few of their throws. I don't think he really believed me when I told him they were the Aussie locks. Albie was a great team man and was very popular with all the players and received a lot of respect and friendship from the supporters too. It was nice to see him in the clubrooms again during the Jubilee Weekend with that great smile. There he was with a group of rugby mated in his element doing what he did so well - having fun. There is a sadness here at "Rewa" to say goodbye. Albie leaves behind so many happy memories, a great man that will always be remembered.

Words can not describe the sense of loss we feel. Albie was my best friends´s dad and have been like a dad to us. The only comfort is to know that you are at peace now. Until we meet again.

Very sad to hear the news of the passing of my good friend and former Rewa team mate Albie. I will always remember and respect your conduct as a gentleman. Your kindness, your determination, your humour, your great singing and most of all your love for your family and friends. These were delivered with the same sincerity of your wonderful smile and that is how I remember you my friend and that will be with me for life - as one of my most respected team mates.
My deepest love and blessings to the Ann and the Vuvale/Aiga/Whanau/Family.
Rest in peace my good friend "Albie Tubu from Fiji" as I humourously regaled you as a 19 year old 40 plus years ago. Alofa atu Albie
