Donald SHAW Obituary

SHAW, Donald. RNZN - 13680 Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on 12 May 2025, aged 89 years. Beloved husband of Margaret for 65 years. Cherished father to Kim and Lynley. Treasured grandad to Ricki, Kelly, Laura, Darren, and Jordan, and great grandad to Lilly, Amaria, Eden, and Esme A Service for Don is to be held at Holy Trinity Church, 215 Devonport Rd, Tauranga, on Tuesday 20 May at 12.30pm followed by a light lunch, and burial at the RSA section at Pyes Pa Memorial Park. "You will be forever remembered in our hearts." Tributes may be left at legacyfunerals.co.nz. Communications to the Donald Shaw family c/- PO Box 3136, Tauranga, 3142.

Don, your infectious smile and laugh will be forever etched in my heart. The door was always open, from the first time I stayed with you and Marg and girls in Napier, at 15 and that door, although the address changed many times, continued to be open to family and friends from near and far away countries and into the next generations. How amazing was that, and a special thank you too, to Marg for the team work. For you were a dream Team. The love, care, advice, the stories you showered us with are memories we will forever treasure. A wonderful life well lived and well travelled and now a well earned rest. Special love and hugs to Marg Kim, Lynley and your beautiful whanau.
