Michael GROSS Obituary

GROSS, Michael Roderick (QSO, JP). On 9th September. Much loved son of Nell (Kerikeri). Treasured husband of Helen and the late Robin. Loved father and father-in-law of Julien and Bevan, Kirsty and Max, Nick and Rosy, Marton and Kate. Loved stepfather of James and Saskia. Very special granddad of Wilf, Archie, Jude, Eva, Seth, Martha, Olivia, Thomas and Evie. Much loved brother of Madeleine and the late Peter. A private cremation will take place, with a celebration of Michael's life to follow later. No flowers, by request. Huge thanks to the wonderful people at Bupa Crofton Downs, Wellington Free Ambulance, Wellington Hospital and Mary Potter Hospice. Hi, I worked with Michael at Bay of Islands County Council (1976-1980) Michael was chair of the Planning Committee for part of that time and I was the Planning Officer. A great person to work with and a truely genuine care about what he was doing in such a beautiful spot as the Bay of Islands.

Dear Helen and all the family,
Please accept these condolences from the Dalton Trust in Kerikeri.
Robin Booth, one of our trustees has just contacted us to let us know that Michael has passed away. We had not had contact with Michael for some time now but knew that he had not been well...he was the first Chairperson of the Dalton Trust which I am sure the family knows the history of... another legacy from the Far North that Michael had a hand in...!
