Mr Rogers was not just a teacher at Waitetuna School. His passion for teaching and dedication to the students and community was evident in everything you did during your teaching time at Waitetuna. Mick, out of school hours coached local junior boys rugby team, drove his car slowly up the Raglan deviation while pupils collected beer bottles off the side of the road and put them in the boot of his car when we were raising funds for a swimming pool. his photography skills meant many happenings at the school e.g. pet days, fancy dress days, are now recorded for history are just some of the things he did.
A teacher like this is rare and we were so lucky to have you as ours at Waitetuna.
Rest in Peace Mr Rogers your influence remains as a guiding light to me.
Our love and deepest sympathy to all the family.
