William PARKIN Obituary

PARKIN, William Arthur (Arthur) 1952 - 2023 Our brother left us with dignity and grace on Tuesday, in his Auckland room alight with love and flowers. Cherished brother of Libby (Elizabeth Harman, nee Francis), and brother in law Frank (Cairns) and uncle to Nicole (Cairns) and Ciaran (Baltimore). First son of Nancy and Bert (Herbert) Parkin, Whangarei. Our deepest coldolences to Marceline Borren, to Arthur's children Ben and Ursula, and to the legion of family, friends and mates whose life time constancy was matched only by Arthur's courage at the end.

Arthur was the first person I met at Phys Ed School at Otago. We played badminton. We had classes together and played hockey with and against each other. He was an outstanding sportsman...competitive and determined.
Arthur always made me laugh...there was never a dull moment. He was outgoing and loved to joke around. He was lively and fun to be with.
Arthur will be remembered and missed by many.
I would like to offer my condolences to Marceline, Ursula, Ben, Noel, Pamela and the extended family.

One of Parkie“s sayings at, coaching clinics:
"You can never pass the ball too early, you can pass it too late".
Your last pass was far to early, but done with grace and perfection.
A great last catch up in Christchurch last month.
We will catch up on the other side.
