Dear Scally and Fleming families,
I´m a bit late in hearing this devastating news about Donna. Donna was my first ever friend, when my family lived in the same street as the Scallys in Koutu, Rotorua, until I was 5. Mum - five kids under the age of 4 - and Judy - the same, if I remember - spent day after day together with their ever-growing brood of children biting at their ankles. I was the same age as Donna, so we were `sat together´, as Judy´s joyous and infectious laugh lifted my mother´s spirit. Our dad was also a distant cousin of John. I lost touch with Donna when we moved into town, but my sisters fondly remember the other Scally girls as they went through school. All my sisters are deeply saddened by your loss, understanding how tragic it is to lose such a very much loved sibling in such circumstances. I´ve always treasured the still vivid memories I have of being at the Scally house, and how comfortable it was being with Donna in the midst of such joyful chaos.
